With SecureMyTenancy, you pay a one-off fee and we issue a guarantee to your landlord covering up to 12 months of rent arrears and legal eviction expenses. This replaces the need for a personal guarantor and is accepted by landlords and letting agents across the UK.

A deposit alternative replaces the traditional 5-week cash deposit with a one-off fee — in our case, equivalent to one weeks rent. How much does a UK rent guarantee service cost?

SecureRent costs the equivalent of four weeks rent as a one-off fee for standard tenants, or three weeks rent for student tenants. There are no renewal fees or recurring charges. A non-refundable referencing fee of £16.99 applies to all applications, regardless of outcome.

When does rent arrears cover start?

Cover is triggered once a tenant has missed 3 consecutive months of rent. The first 3 months of arrears are held and paid upon the landlord securing vacant possession, ensuring the Ground 8 possession threshold is maintained throughout proceedings.

Is there a waiting period when I register?

If the guarantee is registered on or before the tenancy start date there is no waiting period and cover begins immediately. If registered after the tenancy starts, a 90-day moratorium applies during which arrears accrued in that period are not covered.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

You have a statutory 14-day right to cancel for a full refund if your tenancy has not yet started. After that, tiered refunds apply: 75% within 30 days, 50% within 60 days, 25% within 90 days. No refund is available after 90 days or once a claim has been made.
